Apple, Pear and Cranberry Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 400oF (205oC).

  2. In a 1 1/2 to 2 quart casserole, toss together apples, pears, cranberries, 1/4 cup of the sugar, 2 tablespoons of the all-purpose flour, lemon juice, and nutmeg until thoroughly combined.

  3. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter. Add the oats and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until lightly browned. Stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter until melted. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup sugar plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.

  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly and topping is browned. Serve warm, cool or chilled.
