Depending on when we go, we should try to visit the bloggies or whatever is happening.

Route
I think I will have a car well before we're ready to roll. I think we should start in ATL, go west to California then up the coast, then east through northern US and Canada then down the east coast. A round-trip ticket to/from ATL will be cheaper, too.
So we start in ATL, I think we should head west first, so that we build up our cred before we hit the east coast. Then up the west coast, trip across the border to Vancouver Canada, and then across the middle/top of the US over to Maine eventually. Then we drive south and end up in ATL.

Misc
We should consider a couple sleeping bags and tent to help cut costs between stops. We should also use Jona's (et al) touring knowledge and network.
