Pledges for Fall/Winter 2003
These pledges will be collected in June/July for the six month period running thru the end of 2003.
AdamShand - My contribution is being your sysadmin.
(note: even adam kicked in $15 -- GeneMerrill) JoshReineke - I am willing to contribute $10 a month, in a lump sum payment if necessary. I could be squeezed for a bit more for hardware upgrades or loose ends.
.silver - I pledge to provide the requested/suggested amount no problemo. im very happy and excited that MAUS is set to continue on its mission ! saving for first six month installment now ...
RyanWise - as i told adam, maus saved me from shoddy service and horrid shell support at a portland ISP that i was already dishing out $20/month for (not to mention maus has the most baddass sysadmin around). I'm willing to return to $20 per month for the cause.
GeneMerrill - I can commit to $5-10 per month and/or contribute auto-renewing domain registrations for spack and other related domains. It's the least I can do in exchange for primary personal email, a kick-ass development environment, and the ability to finger my friends.
- Keiran - now, as far as I know, I'm completly Wikifuckin'retarded. But, we'll see if I did this right. I would probably be up for kickin' in some cash towards the cause.
- cowboym - I'll toss $10 a month into this as well; let me know the best way to get it to you, and it's done.
SeanEscriva - I'll contribute 40$ upfront, and then 5-10$/month as needed. and gene, watch who yer fingerin'
istari - I'll send $10 a month when I get out of the whole I'm currently in. I just did something insane and bought part of a small hosting outfit so if you need hosting (in NZ tho
CoryWebb - I can contribute 10-15 a month, if it'll keep my email address from going away.
RoyceWilliams - I'm in for $5/month for sure. To be honest, I'd be interested in some kind of charter/bylaws/constitution governing where the money goes before I'll be too keen on contributing a lot more. What are the projected recurring costs? SDF has a great structure for server self-governance.
ColinDabritz - $20 to Gene today (8/12/03). I will be moving to my own PDXColo.net box in the future
I have no problem with a charter other then the time taken to organize one, if someone (Gene, Royce?) is happy to propose something I think it's a good idea. However I can say that money raised will only be used for expenses directly related to hosting the server, no one is taking a personal cut of the money, any extra will just wait for the next round of fundraising. My big question is how do we get everyone to contribute without getting too much money? -- AdamShand.
I'm not ready to dedicate time to drafting a charter but would be more than willing to abide by one. The money collected in Paypal (and my sock drawer) will be spent on PDXColo.net bills as well as any hardware/software deemed required by the admins (not likely since we're a virt server and run open source software). But I think discussing the SpackCharter is a good idea. New page? -- GeneMerrill
