So apparently I'm the only one in the world who never remembers that then and than actually mean different things. All I have to say is "Bah" (as I wave my hand).
Anyway, in the vague self-justifying attempt to explain my inadequacy and hope to enlighten other confused souls here are some definitions. Thanks to my father for finally humiliating me into publicly admitting my failures.
Than:
- "Than" is used as a conjunction as in "You like her more than I do."
or it is used as an inversion as in "Diplomacy is better than bombing."
or in the common - rather than: "I would die rather than eat aubergines."
Then:
- "I will do this then I will do that." This is time based. First I will do this, then I will do that.
