Just some notes which have interesting information on how to use a Wiki as a tool for managing and displaying your data. Ideally I'd like to see a wiki interface to all of my data (research, writing, email, addresses etc).

From my own thinking I think that the biggest issue is how to design the user interface. For example I'd like to sync my PalmPilot to my wiki but there are issues with storing contact data in a wiki. One the free form data layout of a wiki won't sync to well to the more structured Palm contact database. Also I don't necessarily want my mom or girlfriends address/phone/email on the web for anyone to see, so you need to figure out a way to gracefully implement password protection in your wiki (it can't be annoying to the non-authenticated user).

Another idea would be to buid an IMAP interface to your wiki data store wouldn't be that hard. For example, wouldn't having your wiki show up as a folder in your mail client be cool? Or the other way around, search and annotate your email via your wiki!

Another thing I like about wiki's is the informal Category tag at the bottom. Every page should be able to belong to multiple categories rather then enforcing a heirachical, file system like, categorization process. I would like slightly more structured categories though, maybe a drop down box built off of the CategoryCategory page would be a good idea.

More ideas, one way to blog'ify a wiki might be to turn the RecentChanges page into the front page and blog'ify it. You could use the first paragraph of the page or maybe utilize the diff from the previous page somehow for the text of the blog.
